Advertising

If you have a lot of site visitors you can use advertising to boost your profits. You can be paid to link to other sites or you can link to other sites that you sponsor. This is especially true if your site addresses a niche market. Of course we can design and install a custom advertising plan for your webpage. You'll be able to see real-time reports of the money you are making with this income stream.

Radio Blogs

Some of our clients have chosen to host their own show on BlogTalkRadio.com It's free and it's a great tool if you do a lot of blogging and want to take it a step further. We can integrate your radio show into a sidebar or give it a page of it's own, just ask us about it. A great example is our client, Peak Mindset.

Peak Mindset Redesign

Keeping up with the growth of Peak Mindset and it’s radio show and video channel, we had to do some serious redesign of the site.  Since the site now has sponsors, has a video feed,  has a radio show, and supports other causes, we had to change the page to a three-column layout instead of the usual two-column standard.  The videos on YouTube.com have had thousands of views each.  The radio show guests are no longer your run of the mill local speakers.  Next week’s guest is the drummer from the band, The Cult.  The PeakMindset Gear Store has a new interface too.

AncoFastenerSales.com is up and making money

It’s been a few weeks and the ANCO website has already paid for itself.  anco fastener salesThey’ve been getting an average of 1 to 2 new customers a day calling them on the phone and telling them that they, “…found your website…”  They’re amazed at the the business that they never knew was out there looking for them. This online profit center will only continue to grow for them.  We registered them with Yahoo, Google, and Bing’s, local search listings.  We pumped up their Search Engine Optimization settings.  We made the site very search engine friendly and they’ve seen instant results from that.  Most importantly we listed their direct phone number and the fact that they ship worldwide prominently within the header, their visitors are immediately picking up the phone to place orders.

We’re real happy to have another customer that’s real happy to have chosen us for their web development company:)

A.N.CO. Fastener Sales

Three very cool brothers run a fastener supply business in Oregon that has been in business for 30 years. Jim first met them when they wanted a photo or a photo collage to portray their business in a newspaper advertisement. Jim made the photo that is now the header image of their website, www.AncoFastenerSales.com and they were blown away. They later had that image made into a life-size mural that is on the wall behind their service counter. When Jim told them he had started a web design business with Jude, they signed right up.

Webmelt.com is currently developing www.AncoFastenerSales.com and plans to have the site done within a couple of weeks.

The guys at ANCO are liking what they are seeing…

Building a Photography Website

We thought the process of building a site might be of interest to our potential clients, so here you go.  Our client is Shutter Monkey Studios, a northern California based photography business.  They specialize in high school sports and senior shots but also do weddings, bat mitzvahs, and other life events.  This first week has been a process of getting a clear picture of the client’s vision of the website and putting the basic build into place.  The final website will include galleries, online ordering of their products, checklists for different kinds of shoots, and a robust online marketing presence.  Here’s a sneak peak at ShutterMonkeyStudios.com

Blog Talk Radio

One of our clients, Jason Turner at www.PeakMindset.com started using the services of www.blogtalkradio.com   This afternoon he requested that we make him a custom sidebar widget that shows his latest broadcast in the sidebar of his website.  Done.  We actually made two custom widgets, one that shows only his latest broadcast and another one that shows the latest broadcast plus a list of the last 5 broadcasts.  Since he only has one BlogTalkRadio broadcast, the first widget is in place.  As soon as he has some more broadcast content up we will switch it over to the larger widget.

Why we suggest 1and1 as a your webhost and domain registrar.

Today we were presented with a problem many small business owners face.  Dealing with a giant host and registrar that doesn’t give a darn about their business.  Our first client, www.peakmindset.com had an existing website that was locked into a yearlong contract with Yahoo.  This was before they came to Webmelt to redesign their site.  Right off the bat, we suggested they change their host to 1and1, however being locked into their contract at $10/month they chose to ride out the contract.  www.1and1.com would charge $3.99/month for the same service with the first 3 months free and a 90 day money back gaurantee.  Many folks in the United States are very familiar with GoDaddy.com and Yahoo.com and think they are at the top of their market since they advertise heavily during the Superbowl.  The reality is that 1and1 is the largest domain registrar and website host in the world, Godaddy is in a distant second place but it has more name recoginiton in the United States.  1and1 charges less than half of what GoDaddy charges, and 1and1′s services far surpass what GoDaddy offers.  And they are solidly reliable, ‘nuf said!

This is why we recommend www.1and1.com as our preferred host and domain registrar.  We’ve opted not to get any kickbacks, commissions, or deals with 1and1 for recommending them to our customers in order to remain impartial.  We just want our customers to get the best, reliable, bang for their buck and we feel that will be the result in doing business with www.1and1.com.
