Unless the client chooses otherwise, we use WordPress as a basic building block for our projects. WordPress is the leader in Content Management Systems. It’s the most robust and independently developed for system out there. We can also create sites for Joomla, Drupal, Blogger and other CMS platforms if you prefer.
- Do I own my site once you make it? Yes, you own everything. Our fees are based on a One-Time billing for creating your site and its design. You can copyright and trademark anything we develop for you.
- Why don’t you offer Hosting and Domain Registration? We founded Webmelt with a vision of helping small businesses thrive in the very competitive internet marketplace. From experience we knew that many “Web Design” companies paid their bills by charging exorbitant hosting and domain registration fees while also charging a premium up-front fee to develop the site’s design. We wanted to break this mold by letting our clients own their domain, and own their hosting, and pay us to develop the missing ingredient, website design.

If you have a website with tens of thousands of visitors per day, we recommend RackSpace as your hosting solution since they host sites like Oprah.com, Amazon.com, etc. Unless you are making at least $10,000/month via your website, RackSpace is not a financially viable alternative. We have no affiliation with 1and1.com and have elected not to take part in their referral program. We simply suggest using them since they provide a good value for your dollar and provide prompt customer support.

We need basic information, your contact info, map to your location if appropriate, menu or list of products, your bio or “About Us” info, your call to action for customers, etc. You get the idea. - How long will it take to get my website online? We strive to complete your project and have your business online within two weeks. There is a 48 hour delay in domain registration that is beyond our control. We then start work right after your names and hosting are resolved. It’s crucial that you respond promptly to our instructions, feedback, and actions. If you put off responding to our inquiries for data or direction then that will be reflected in the total build time for your site. If you’re on the ball, we guarantee we will be too!
